A POLL THAT MIGHT MATTER

The Military Times has published its third annual survey of the opinions of active-duty personnel:

This was a mail-in survey conducted between December 14th and 23rd.

Overall, the poll indicates that although support for the President and his conduct of the war is down, it is still stronger among these whom it affects most than the public in general.

It's worth a read, IMO.

Two interesting items:

For the first time in the three-year history of the poll, more than half of respondents said they had deployed in support of the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Nearly two-thirds said the military is stretched too thin to be effective, though that figure is down substantially from two years ago.
